Barbara Litton, a strong and courageous woman of faith passed away peacefully at her home in Kingsport on October 30, 2015, at the age of 74. She was an inspiration of strength, love, courage, and faith to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Edward Litton and Maude Belle Litton of Kingsport, brother James Edward Litton of Kingsport, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
She is survived by her sister and guardian angel on earth Billie Jessee of Kingsport, sister Wilma Jane Charles of Virginia, sister Stanza "Tootsie" Chase of Kingsport, devoted niece Lynne Kastal and husband Stan of Maryland, niece Cynthia Vanzant of Johnson City, special great-niece Monica Vanzant of Kingsport, and double first cousin Lena Mae Thompson of California.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Meade and Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.
The burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Special thanks and appreciation to caregivers Chrystal Lawrence, Tammy Hill, Trish Lovin, and all the other caregivers from Bright Star. Also, a special thanks to everyone at Mountain States Hospice for their care and compassion.
