Barbara D. Spivey

Barbara D. Spivey; 63, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 6, 2010 at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of Fall Branch and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch. She was a graduate of Fall Branch High School and was employed by Belk's Department Store in Johnson City.

She was predeceased by her father, Henry Dickerson.

Survivors include her son, Jason Spivey of Fall Branch; mother, LaWanda Dickerson of Fall Branch; sister, Patricia Gail Dickerson of Fall Branch; brother, Roger Dickerson and wife Peggy of Limestone; nephew, Caleb Dickerson of Limestone; niece, Brooke Dickerson of Limestone; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Carl Strickler and Rev. Victor Wallace officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the church cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Johnson City Medical Center who helped with her care.
