Barbara Sue Vanzant

Barbara Sue Conkin Vanzant, age 66, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on October 1, 2021 after a short battle with Covid 19.

Barbara was born on February 25, 1955 to Gene and Almeda Conkin of the Blairs Gap community. After graduating from Sullivan West High School, she dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother.

Mrs. Vanzant will always be remembered for her selfless service to our country as a blue star mother. She was a loving sister and her grandchildren gave her the greatest joy in her later years.

She is survived by her four sons, Samuel Jr., Christopher, Jason and Jonathan; and several grandchildren.

A family celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
