Ben Ramey, 86 of Kingsport passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 15th.
He was born in Johnson City, TN on January 23, 1926. He was a WW II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Eastman Kodak Company until his retirement.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Mae Kent Ramey; parents, Thomas Ramey and Bonnie Walters; brother, Theodore Ramey; two sisters, Lutivine "Bean" Gilliam and Elva Blakley.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard & Peggy Ramey of Church Hill, Conley and Helen Ramey of Surgoinsville; and several nieces, nephews and friends of the family.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Military graveside rites will be conducted at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 1 p.m. by American Legion Posts 3/265.
