Bennie A. Carroll, 81, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord and his loving daughter, Tammy C. Higgins, on Sunday, March 17th, 2019.
He was born and lived in Kingsport all his life. Bennie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Mead / Willamette after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church.
A quiet, steady presence, Bennie was a hardworking man and a loving husband, father, granddaddy (Auggie), brother, and friend.
In addition to his daughter, he was preceded in death by his parents, Nell and Charlie Carroll, brother, Arnold Carroll, and nephew Charles Edward Carroll.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Carole Shipp Carroll; son, Aaron Carroll and wife Christine, five granddaughters, Allie Carroll, Abby Higgins, Emily Carroll, Meghan Carroll, and Lily Carroll; son in law, Jerry Higgins; two sisters, Marie Sluss and Jane Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Tuesday at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
In lieu of flowers it would please the family that donations be made instead to Rock Springs United Methodist Church (Lord’s Acre) 227 Church View Drive Kingsport, TN. 37664.
