Bernie D. Love

Bernie D. Love, 92, of the Beech Creek Community, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Solomons Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Bernie had retired from Holston Valley Medical Center in 1988. She was an excellent cook, quilter, and gardener. Her knowledge far exceeded her education. Bernie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Clara Bell Love Greene; great-grandson, Samuel Greene; her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, JoAnn Cox and husband Eddie, Vicki Carberry and husband Jimmy, and Helen Moore and husband, Don; one son, Howard Love and wife Melinda; 14 grandchildren, Paul and Daniel Greene, Linton Cox, Andy and B.J. Applegate, Amber Bowman, Savannah Quillen, Levi Love, Tony, Mickey, and Jamie Carberry, Jessie Cox, and Jared and Jacob Moore; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby McCoy; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Solomons Temple Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Ragon officiating.

Burial will follow at Dykes Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Greene, Linton Cox, Levi Love, Jamie Carberry, Jared Moore, Jacob Moore, and Christian Carberry.
