Bert Blaine Thornburg

Bert Blaine Thornburg passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Asbury Place, Steadman Hill. He was born in Greene County, TN on July 27, 1922 to his parents, Dana and Clyde Thornburg. Bert was a Veteran of WW ll in the US Army Air Corps overseas. He received a Business degree from the University of Chicago. He worked at TN Eastman Company in Payroll, Accounting and Employee Benefits for 46 years. He actively served his church for many faithful years.

Others preceding him in death were his wife of 75 years, Mildred; daughter-in-law, Annette Thornburg; son-in-law, Steve Foley.

Survivors include daughter, Gail Foley of Daleville, VA and son, Steven Thornburg of Kingsport; grandchildren, Josh Overbay and wife, Emily of CT, Lori Bargeron and husband, Andrew of TX, Chris Foley and wife, Dottie of PA, David Foley of VA; great-grandchildren, Griff, Blake and Annie Overbay of CT, John and Emma Foley of PA.

Graveside services will be conducted, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Rev. Chris Brown officiating.
