Bertie McCloud, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord and her loving husband Friday, March 6, 2009 at home.

Mrs. McCloud was First Lady of Hall Street Holiness Church for 56 years. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, mamaw, and granny.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Dewey W. McCloud; two infant daughters; one infant son; her father and mother, Simon and Anna Mowdy; sister, Ruby Odham; and brother, Howard Mowdy.

Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Castle and husband Rev. Doyle Castle of Kingsport; special grandson, Allen Castle and wife April; grandson, Don Castle and wife Rhonda,; granddaughter, Sherry Yonts, all of Kingsport; eight great-grandchildren, Jeff Castle, Brittany Castle, Stephanie Castle, Alasyn Castle, Cody Yonts, Chelesea Yonts, Casey Castle, and Lane Castle; five sisters, Mary Lou Odham of Johnson City, Ava Adams, Leda Clonce, Lettie Hammonds, and Evelyn Ramey, all of Kingsport; four brothers, Cecil Mowdy, Clyde Mowdy all of Kingsport, and James Mowdy, Maryville, TN; and special brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Elizabeth Mowdy.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and any time at the home of her daughter, Shirley Castle.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, formerly Hall Street Holiness Church with Rev. Clarence Necessary officiating. The eulogy will be given by Allen Castle.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Matthew McCloud, Cody Yonts, Jeff Castle, Rev. Ronnie Bledsoe, Eathan Presley, and Don Castle.
