Beryl Audrey Lockhart, of Kingsport, had an appointment with Jesus Tuesday, September 4, 2012, after a brief illness. Born in Worcester, England, she moved to Kingsport in 1947. She was a homemaker and attended Ross Campground United Methodist Church. Beryl was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, awesome grandma and great-grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Doris Harber, a son, Russell Lockhart, and sister, Brenda Lockhart.
Beryl is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Lockhart of the home; three sons, Phil Lockhart and wife, Jessie, Chris Lockhart and wife, Regina, and Randy Lockhart and wife, Jeannie, all of Kingsport; and nine grandchildren, Tommy Lockhart, Mark Lockhart, Angela Hudnall, Matthew Lockhart, Daniel Lockhart, Jonathan Lockhart, Heather Lockhart, Jerome Lockhart and Ryan Lockhart; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 5th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Mike Ladd and Rev. Calvin Talbert officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, September 6th at 11:00 am at Ross Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Winegar and Kevin Hudnall.
