Beryl D. Moody, 90, Kingsport, died on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Washington County and had resided in Sullivan County for most of his life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II as a tank driver and was awarded 7 Bronze Stars. Beryl was retired from Eastman Kodak (AY division) following 42 years of service. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. Beryl was also a member of the American Legion 3/265 Color Guard and a member of the VFW post 3382 Color Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Rhea Moody; infant son, Beryl Dewayne Moody; daughter, Judy Lynn Moody; parents, W.H. and Bessie Moody; brothers, Tom, Kenneth, Paul and Troy Moody; and sister, Ruth Carr.

Beryl is survived by four daughters, Janie Sentelle and husband, Larry of Kingsport; Joanie McDavid and husband, Barry of Kingsport, Jill Wilson and husband, Steve of Kingsport, and Jackie Wampler and husband, Jimmy of Kingsport; son, Mark Moody of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, David Hubbard, Shannon Hubbard, Travis Hubbard, Angela Harmon, Sonya White, Jess Wampler and Austin Moody; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lovenia "Sissy" Light and husband, Delmar of Fall Branch; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett- Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch or anytime at the home of his son, Mark Moody. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Pastor Jim Mullins officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 am at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be by American Legion Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be David Hubbard, Travis Hubbard, Shannon Hubbard, Austin Moody, Jess Wampler and Tim Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Davis, David Moody, Roger Moody, Dale Moody, Denny Moody, Angela Harmon and Sonya White.
