Bessie W. Pecktol

Bessie W. Pecktol, 91, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 18, 2018, unexpectedly following surgery. Bessie was born in Kingsport, where she had lived her entire life. Bessie was a graduate of D.B. She was an employee of Pope Robinette where she still was employed. Bessie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mom and was the true love of her husband, Flem.

She was preceded in death by her parents S.P. and Florence Wood; sister, Billie Blankenbeckler; and great-grandson, Nathan Winegar.

Bessie is survived by her husband, Flem Pecktol, of the home; daughter, Janie Winegar and husband Mike of Kingsport; son, Chuck Pecktol and wife Vicky of Kingsport, and Steve Pecktol and Kim of Dresden, TN; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Shirley Taylor and husband Orbin of Kingsport; Special thanks to Betty Lou Bates, Wayne Medlin, Bill and Christine Hickam for their love and care.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018, at First Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
