Betsy Jane Diebert, 79, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Indian Path Community Hospital. She was born in Modesto, California on October 6, 1940, the daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Cornwell. A graduate of Fresno (California) High School, Betsy attended Fresno State College and worked in the UCLA Medical Center records office. She was an active member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church for over 50 years. For over 35 years, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels of Kingsport. She was also a volunteer nurse’s aide in the student clinics at Miller Perry Elementary School and Colonial Heights Middle School and was a parent volunteer for the Sullivan South Rebel Band. Above all, Betsy was a loving, devoted wife and mother, and she is deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Susan Neighbors. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Curtis, and her sons Michael and Eric.
Services will be held Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m., at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 584 Lebanon Rd., Kingsport.
