Bette Phillips Summar
Bette Phillips Summar, 85, of Kingsport, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 26, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eunice Lee and Mary Elizabeth Phillips; two sisters, Martha Sue P. Meals and Nancy P. Sanders; one brother, George "Buddly" Phillips.
Bette leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Eldon L. Summar; three children, Lola Jean Nichols (Dan) of Richmond, VA, Jeffrey E. Summar (Lisa) of Kingsport, TN, Mary Beth Jeffrey (Tim) of Chamblee, GA; three grandchildren, Brett Summar (Lauren), Peyton Nichols, and Caroline Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren, Tate and Landry Summar; two sisters, Jane P. Luckey (Rege) and Sylvia P. Parker (Buddy); and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Mafair United Methodist Church, and at other hours at the residence of Jeff and Lisa Summar. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kim Goddard officiating.
A graveside service will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
