Betty Dean Schick

Betty Dean Schick, 66, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 after an extended illness. She was born in Scott County, Virginia and had resided in Kingsport most of her life. Betty graduated from Gate City High School and attended Northeast State. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty retired from Eastman, having started in Acetate Yarn Division in 1968, later transferred to Textile Technical Services, and then retired from Customer Satisfaction Building 280 in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Dean; and brother, James Dean.

Betty is survived by her husband of 37 years, Martin Schick; mother, Lola Dean; sister, Elizabeth Dean; two brothers, William Dean and Charlie Dean; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Linda Jennings.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Steve Counts officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Memorial Fund, 800 Broad St, Kingsport, TN 37660, and the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
