Betty Anita Chapman Freels, 74, Kingsport, TN, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was born in LaFollette, TN. Betty had a special interest in accounting, music, and games including Mahjong and Bridge. She was of the Baptist faith.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Freels, Kingsport, TN; and parents, James Elbert and Adra Chapman, LaFollette, TN.
She is survived by her brother, Gary Chapman, Chattanooga, TN; nephew, Ernie Campbell and wife Becky; niece, Linda Wood and husband, Jimmy, Memphis, TN; great-nephews, Brian and Nicholas.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs, TN.
A graveside service will follow the visitation at Sharp Funeral Home in East Fork Cemetery, Oak Ridge, TN.
Memorial gifts may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 401 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, The Salvation Army, 505 Dale Street, Kingsport, TN 37660, or the charity of one's choice.
Special thanks go to the Ladies of Comfort Keepers who have been such a comfort over the last two years. Paula, Dora, Karla, Sherry, Mindy and Kim and the staff at Indian Path Medical Center.
