Betty Lou (Susie) Galloway, 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (March 29, 2014) at NHC Fort Sanders in Knoxville, TN.
She was born to the late Clarence and Mary Cox on August 25, 1934, in Kingsport, TN. She married the late Ben Galloway on December 24, 1951. Susie was a lifelong resident of Kingsport working as a hairdresser and LPN for most of her professional career. She was a member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Diane Galloway Peake; brothers, Clarence Poe (Buddy) Cox, Jr., and Ronnie Joe Cox.
Susie is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Hogan of Knoxville, Bonnie Harvey and husband, Eddie, of Maynardville, and Vickie McGill of Knoxville; five grandchildren, Benji and wife, Megan Arnold, Brad Hogan, Tiffany McGill, Justin Harvey, and Jackson Harvey; brother, Robert Fred Cox; four great-grandchildren, Issaic Hogan, Chloe Hogan, Augustus Arnold, and Arthur Arnold; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday (April 1, 2014) from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Rock Springs United Methodist Church, or friends may call anytime at her residence. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Joseph W. Manis officiating.
The burial will follow the service at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
