Betty Lou Toney Hambrick passed away March 12, 2014 in her home after a long illness. She had lived in Kingsport for some 87 years, largely within four blocks of her birth place. She was a lifelong member of Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church. Betty landscaped and decorated a beautiful home in which she lived.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William Isaac and Bobbie Stewart Fleenor; daughter, Sandra K. Adams, sister, Georgia Coats, and brothers, Robert Fleenor and Ike Fleenor, Jr..
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Rev. David Hambrick of the home; son, Dan Davenport and wife, Deborah; grandson, Brian Adams, great-grandson, Joseph Adams; sisters, Thelma Sloan and Joann Morelock, all of Kingsport; Alfred and Jack Toney, whom she raised; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday at 11:00 am at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church. A worship service officiated by Rev. David Hambrick will be conducted during the memorial service. A luncheon prepared by the women of the church will be held in the Fellowship Hall following Betty's memorial service.
