Betty Lou Hamilton

Betty Lou Hamilton, 68, of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord after an extended illness on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who had a heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alice G. and George W. Larkins; a daughter, Lisa A. Trent; and a granddaughter, Emily Justice.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her husband, Larry R. Hamilton; children, Casey E. Huckaby and wife Wendy, Tammy Burchfield, Angie Hamilton, and Lisa Linkous and husband Mark; 12 grandchildren, Tina Flanigan, Jason Burchfield, Steven Raymond, David Huckaby, Rachel Scharnakau, Bruce Estep, Ricky Estep, Jared Qualls, Trish Christian, Stephanie Cupit, Tiffany Feagins, and Cassidy Justice; five great-grandchildren, Chris Flanigan, Austin Flanigan, Davian Huckaby, Noah Huckaby, and Jason Burchfield, Jr.; and sisters, Barbara Ann Meade, Estelle Reba McClellan, and JoAnn Hensley.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, and Friday from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Pastor Greg Fletcher, Pastor Fred Diamond, and Pastor Tim Hodges officiating.

Graveside services will be held following the funeral at Larkins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Parson, Lynn Parson, David King, William Pierson, Mark Linkous, and Jonathan Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hurd, Buck Harrison, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Mountain States Home Care for all their love and support and mostly to her beloved friend, Lucy, who stood beside her until the end.
