Betty Ann Bailey Harmon

Betty Ann Bailey Harmon, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Betty was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and the daughter of the late Harlan and Nellie Bailey. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1946. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and caregiver. She was a devoted member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Bailey Williams, and two brothers, Paul Bailey and J.R. "Jack" Bailey.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Allen L. Harmon of Kingsport; two sons, James Allen Harmon of Kingsport, and David Andrew Harmon of Montgomery, AL; two sisters, Lorene Bailey and Peggy Crawford, both of Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would especially like to thank the caregivers and staff of Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 with Rev. Rhonda K. Hobbs officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park.
