Betty Marie Hawk of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Thursday January 31, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Hawk was a cosmetologist and also worked for Acosta, Inc. as long as her health permitted. She was a charter member of Pyburn Freewill Baptist Church of Pine Grove Community. Betty Marie was a faithful church member, a strong prayer warrior, and a great supporter of family and friends who were experiencing difficult times.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar Ray Crawford and Audrey Compton Crawford, two brothers: Robert Bob Crawford and Warren Crawford.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Robert Hawk; one loving daughter, WaTanna Hawk Jones of Kingsport, TN; one brother and his wife, Harold Crawford Joyce of Pine Grove Community; sister-in-law, Teresa Crawford of Afton, TN; nephews, Chris Crawford Michelle, Chad Crawford Barbara and Nic Crawford; niece, Adrienne Rose Chris; great-nephews, Drew and Christian Crawford; great-nieces, Erica Bowman, Audrey, Emma, and Chloe Crawford, and Mourghan and Bailee Rose. Betty Marie is also survived by an extra special friend, Jason Jones; special friends, Kenny and Connie Kerr, Lucy Penley, Kathy Light, Charles and Dorothy Smith, and the congregation of Pyburn Freewill Baptist Church of Pine Grove Community.
A special thank you to her caregiver, Flo Sheeks and the family expresses special appreciation to Dr. Nakhoul and the staff of Kingsport Hematology-Oncology Group.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2nd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pyburn Freewill Baptist Church of Pine Grove Community on Horton Highway. The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Barry Reed officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Bright, Gary Rector, Dwayne Rector, Nic Crawford, Bill Hall, Bob Tate, and Chris Rose. Honorary pallbearer will be Marty Jackson.
