Betty J. Haynes, 77, of Kingsport, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 16, 2008 at Indian Path Hospital.
Born in Yuma, VA; March 10th, 1931, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport and was a member of State Line Baptist Church. She had retired from the Kingsport Press after more than 30 years of service.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Winnie Haynes; three sisters, Laura Helms, Winnie Hester Monroe, and Nancy Rochester; three brothers, J.C. Haynes, Kenneth Haynes, and Fred Haynes; special nephew, Joey Sandidge
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The family of Betty Haynes will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 2:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Boyd Holder officiating. Music will be provided by Pastor Boyd Holder and Shawn Holder.
Gravesides services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Junior Mowell, Holden Bernard, Butch Bowser, Jim Carter, Ronnie Dorton, and Blackie Marshall.
