Betty Jo Fleming Franklin

Betty Jo Fleming Franklin, born October 30, 1930, died at her home in Hermitage, TN on Monday, March 21, 2016. Betty was a graduate of Lynn View High School as a member of its first graduating class of 1949. She was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church for many years and recently attended New Hope Baptist Church in Hermitage, TN. Betty retired from Sullivan County Schools having worked at Ketron Middle School and the central office. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cline Franklin; son, Johnny Franklin; parents, Fox and Susan Fleming; and brothers, Dee, Tilden and Harold Fleming.

Betty is survived by her son, Jimmy Cline Franklin and wife, Kathy; daughter, Patty Mougridis and husband, George; grandchildren, Leslie Yates and husband, Todd, Beth Fowler and fiancé, Joe Poag, Robby Franklin and wife, Amy, Maria Mougridis and Alexander Mougridis; great-grandchildren, Hunter Yates, Carson Yates, Cameron Fowler, Sawyer Franklin, Bowen Franklin, Ethan Poag and Mia Poag; brothers, Jimmy Lee Fleming and wife, Pat, and Paul Fleming and wife, Pauline; sisters-in-law, Katie Fleming and Ruth Fleming; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Donna Snyder.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Rev. Jeff Morelock officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Todd Yates, Robby Franklin, Joe Poag, Hunter Yates, George Mougridis, Alexander Mougridis and Carson Yates.
