Betty Slemp Kamber

Betty Slemp Kamber passed on to her heavenly home on February 9, 2019 at NHC Kingsport after a long struggle on smoldering myeloma with her husband Bob of 63 years by her side.  She was one of twin daughters of Frona Slemp and A.C. Betty was a devoted twin sister, home maker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She liked playing bridge when she could, reading, and travel, particularly after Bob retired.  She was a great shopper and had good tastes when it came to fashions in clothes and interior home design.  She will be greatly missed by Bob, her children and their families, and her friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved identical twin sister, Margie Slemp Andes and her husband G. D. Andes, DVM; brother Sidney A. Slemp; and sister Laura Lee McCormick and husband Jack McCormick.

The family will receive friends at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church at 12 – 1 PM on February 14, 2019 immediately before a Celebration of Life service at 1 PM at the church with Rev. Collin Adams officiating.  A private interment will follow at the WRPC Columbarium.
