Betty Keplinger, 73, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2015 following an extended illness. Born in Sneedville, she was the daughter of the late Clyde V. and Euna Martin Mullins. She loved camping and enjoyed taking care of her granddaughters. Betty loved basketball and the Lady Vols, having played in high school and even teaching her son how to play. She was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church, Sneedville. Betty will be remembered as the long-time cook for Sweets Dairy Bar and Sloopys.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, William Jack Keplinger of the home; son, Jeffrey Turner and wife, Carol of Jonesborough; daughter, Julia Jones and husband, Patrick of Gray; 5 granddaughters, Cory, Kiersten, Carey, Sarah and Courtney; 2 brothers, Earl Mullins and wife, Brenda, and Larry Mullins and wife, Kathy; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for the tender love and care they gave Betty.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. A celebration of life will follow with Rev. Steve Pate officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Painter, Carl Shepard, Bill Hicks, Leonard Parson, Earnie Crawford, and Dale Lewis.
