Betty Jo Lady

Betty Jo Kress Lady, 83, Kingsport, died Friday morning at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, she lived in Dayton, OH and Dallas, TX before returning to Kingsport in 1975. Betty Jo was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was a loving mother and enjoyed cross stitching, flower gardening, playing the piano, doll collecting, shopping and her Boston Terriers.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas H. Howard, second husband, George D. Lady, son, Craig Thomas Howard, and parents, E.W. Kress and Mae B. Kress.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Jo Howard of Kingsport, daughter-in-law, Tammy Howard of Bluff City, and her two beloved Boston Terriers, "Muffin and Tippy."

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday at 1:45 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Kaye Florence officiating.
