Betty Jane Greer McMurray

Betty Jane Greer McMurray, 76, 218 West Carters Valley, Kingsport, went to be with Jesus Monday, February 12, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. McMurray retired from Holston Valley Medical Center Wilcox Hall. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert J. McMurray; her parents, Coy and Blanche Greer; and two brothers, Johnny Greer and L. B. Greer.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Light and husband, Jeff; a son, Eddie McMurray; three grandchildren, Coy McMurray, Jake Light, Jordan Light; two great-grandchildren, Kierra Jade Durham and Aaliyah Michelle Light; one sister, Dessie ?Boots? Ennis; and one brother, G. C. Greer and wife, Minnie Jean.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Layton Bentley officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
