Betty Ann Hayes Price, 82, of Kingsport died Monday evening, November 1, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born in Bristol, Tennessee Betty graduated from Science Hill High School. She taught in the Kingsport City School system for 18 years. Betty Ann was an active member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Crusade Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and the Secretary of the Women's Kingsport Optimist Club.
Survivors are her husband William C. Bill Price of the home; four children: Cindy Hickey and husband Dwight of Thorsby, Alabama; Kim Pendleton and husband David of Kingsport; Becky Vaughn and husband Rick of Kingsport; and Brad Price of Johnson City; ten grandchildren: Matthew, David, Ryan, Morgan, Taylor, Roger, Corey, Luke, Macie and Madison; two great-grandchildren: Bella and Marshall; goddaughter: Deceme Masweng; loving caregivers: Lisa Battles, Amber Malone and Stephanie Brown-Greer; and her faithful companion Emma-Lou.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mickey Rainwater, Rev. Jack Edwards, and Dr. J. Spurgeon McCartt and officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Forever Young Group, P.O. Box 1346, Kingsport, TN. 37662.
