Betty S. Williams

Betty S. Williams, 75, of Church Hill, Tennessee was called home Sunday afternoon, May 8, 2016, following a sudden illness last week. Betty was born in the Mill Creek community, where she had lived until moving to Church Hill. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School Class of 1958. Betty was a bookkeeper. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret M. Shipley and Roy Shipley; and brother, Terry Shipley.

Betty is survived by her husband, R. Glen Williams, of the home; daughter, Lisa P. Holding of Kingsport; sons, Mark G. Williams of Church Hill, and Roger Matt Williams of Fall Branch; one granddaughter; Corie Hall and husband Shawn Hall of Rogersville; one grandson, Jake Quillin of Kingsport; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Sophia Hall; sister, Cookie Franklin and husband Sherman of Kingsport, and brother Linville "Bud" Shipley of Greene County; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Beth and Deb from Holston Valley ICU.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Michael Anglin officiating.
