Beulah Jean Hulse

Beulah Jean Hilton Hulse, 77, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord as another angel in heaven, January 24, 2014, after sustaining injuries in a car accident.

A native of Kingsport, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Rose Ella Doran Hilton. Beulah retired from the Kingsport postal service as a mail carrier after 35 years. She loved to travel and had visited all over the world, but most importantly she loved to spend time with her grandkids. Lately, if she was not traveling in the motor home with Phil and Betty, she was spending time in the hills of Virginia with Judy and Craig. She always looked forward to the sibling family gatherings. She devoted her life in raising Chris, her foster child, that she's had since he was two weeks old and he's now 5 ½.

Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Richard (J.R.) Hulse and an infant grandson, Jerry Hulse, Jr.

She is survived by her children: Jerry Wayne Hulse of Kingsport, Betty Hicks and husband, Phil, of Kingsport, and Judy Carter and husband, Craig, of Ft. Blackmore; five grandchildren, she raised her grandson, Joe Hulse; ten great-grandchildren, and she helped raise Becca and Gauge Hulse; she was the current foster Mom of Chris Humphreys; siblings: Iva Feathers, Stacie Hulse, Billie Young and husband, Tom, Ginny Mullins, J.W. Hilton and wife, Mitzie, and Nancy Hilton; and she was loved by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Brother Jessie Swanner officiating and special music by singers from Feathers Chapel.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Joe Hulse, Phil Hicks, Craig Carter, Emmett Carter, Tom Young, Cody Young, Hunter Fugate, and Chris Dorton. Chris Humphreys will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made online to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or by mail at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
