Bill Moody, 82, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Johnson City Medical Center. Bill was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. He retired from the Treasurer's Division of Eastman Kodak in 1986 and was a member of Gunnings Baptist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ollie Moody; and three brothers, Clifton Moody, Clay Moody, and Jim Moody.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita "Pauline" Hawk Moody of Kingsport; sons, Gary Moody and wife Phoebe of Franklin, TN, Michael Moody and wife Sherry of Kingsport, and Richard Moody and wife Lucy of Blountville; one special goddaughter, Ruth Martin of Gray; six grandchildren, Lee Moody, Paul Moody, Christina Frazier and husband Andrew, Matthew Moody and wife Candace, Mary Moody, and Rachel Moody; step-great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Frazier; great-grandson, Caden Moody; special god grandson, John Gray Martin, III; sisters, Margie Jennings and husband Lester of Kingsport and Louise Williams of Kingsport; brothers, Edgar "Ray" Moody of Kingsport, J.B. Moody and wife Ida of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Emogene Moody of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at Gunnings Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Ferguson officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Lee Moody, Paul Moody, Matthew Moody, John Gray Martin, III, Ray Moody, Jr., and Spencer Moody.
