Billie Frances Davis, age 90, of Blountville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013, with her daughter by her side. Mrs. Davis always had a story to tell of her travels and adventures abroad with her late husband.
She was a kindhearted, caring soul who enjoyed reading books and carrying on long conversations. She was always willing to help in any way possible and loved her family without fault.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Davis, her parents, Martin V. and Frances W. Compton; her sister, Jean Finnell; brother, Martin B. Compton; and grandson-in-law, Benjamin C. Hubble.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and James (Mike) Yeager; grandchildren Jennifer Hubble, Matthew and Julia Yeager, and Jacob and Angela Yeager; her great-grandchildren, Asher and Karris Hubble, Bennett and Abigail Yeager, and Liam Yeager; and brother Phil and Sigrid Compton.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. May 26, 2013, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Kent Pugh officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good News Jail and Prison Ministries, P.O. Box 610, Blountville, TN 37617.
Private graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Columbia, TN.
