Billy J. Crawford

Billy J. "Bill" Crawford, 56, of Kingsport, joined in heaven with his loving wife, Charlotte, his father, Joe and brother, Gary on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Born in Kingsport, on March 5, 1958, a son of Etta Virginia Harris Crawford of Kingsport and the late Joe Keener Crawford, he has resided in this area his entire life. He worked at Warriors Path State Park for 28 years.

Following the death of his wife, Charlotte, Bill became both mother and father to his girls, totally devoted to being the best parent he could be. He was so very proud of both Amanda and Rachel and loved them both unconditionally.

He is survived by his loving and devoted daughters, Amanda Sue Ellen Crawford and Rachel Renee Crawford, both of the home; mother, Etta Virginia Harris Crawford of Kingsport; brother, Randy Crawford of Kingsport; several aunts and uncles; niece,
Samantha East; and nephew, Aaron Crawford. To include all of the family and friends that Bill loved, a book would have to be written.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, and at other hours at the home of his sister-in-law, and husband, Joyce and Junior Bledsoe, East Carter's Valley, 276-225-5522. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Friday with Brother Larry Tolley officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Depew's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those attending committal services are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 12:45pm Saturday.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Crawford, Aaron Crawford, Ed Moody, Everett Cox, Eddie McClellan, Junior Bledsoe and Prof. L.C. Collins.
