Billy Crawford

Billy G. Crawford, 68, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday morning, March 30, 2010, following an extended illness. Billy was born in Sullivan county where he resided for most of his life.

Billy was a graduate of Sullivan High School, class of 1960. He retired from Eastman, where he was a mechanic at Building 125 Shop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Willia Dean Crawford; his parents, Morgan and Annie B. Crawford; a sister, Pearl Ward; and a brother, Bobby Crawford.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jean Crawford, of Kingsport; his daughter, Lisa Eggers and husband, Kort, of Johnson City; his son, Mike Crawford and wife, Debbie, of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Kortney, Matthew, and Morgen; two sisters, Kay White and husband, James, and Fay Benton and husband, Dana, all of Rogersville; a brother, Robert Crawford, of Church Hill; Elizabeth Jean's children, Tina M. Price and husband, Michael, WV, Melissa K. Aboulhosn, Sunrise, Indiana, Derrek Shaffer, Gate City, VA, and Darrel Shaffer, Gray, TN, and her nine grandchildren.

Friends may call at the home, or at either of the children's residences. The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport, on Friday, April 2, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Services will be conducted at 2:00, with Rev. Reggie Weems and Donnie Wade officiating.

Interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park will follow the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Crawford, James White, Dr. Jon Jones, Dr. Jim Brantner, Charlie Harless, and Ron Lawson.
