Billy J. Dillow, 72, of Kingsport went home to be with his Lord Monday, February 23, 2009, at Johnson City Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born in Washington County, graduated from Fall Branch High School, and served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Billy was formerly employed at Rio Grande Fence Company and Fluor Daniels and was an active member of Oak Glen Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. Billy was an avid NASCAR and Tennessee Vols fan.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Erie and Bertha Dillow; five sisters, Louise Coffee, Dorothy Barron, Madeline Ford, Katheline Barr, and Ruth Haren; an aunt/mom, Nell Shipley; an uncle, Bill Dillow; and a sister, Mary Ashworth.
Surviving are his children, Tonda Dillow, Mike Dillow, Missy Dillow Frazier; grandchildren, Dustin Dillow, Megan Tigges, Morgan Frazier; one special great-grandchild, Chase Rogan; one brother, Wayne Morrison; a special friend and mother of his children, Nita Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Gaither Townsend officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Oak Glen Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post #3/265. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to Dr. Hadadin and Dr. McCoy and the doctors and nurses at Johnson City Medical Center and the V.A. Hospital.
