Billy Ray Farmer

Billy Ray Farmer, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Billy was a faithful Christian and member of Victory Life Center. He loved playing guitar at church. Billy was a jokester who really enjoyed making people laugh. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and papaw to all, he will surely be missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mildred Farmer; mother and father, Rev. Ed Farmer and Martha Farmer; brothers, Willard Farmer and Jim Farmer; and sister, Rusha Tomlinson.

Billy is survived by his sons, Billy Joe Farmer and wife Kim, Larry Farmer and wife Teresa, and Gary Farmer and wife, Penny; daughter, Rhonda Hall and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Kari O’Brien, Brittani Hamilton, Brandon Bowen, Lynsey Farmer, Heather Farmer, Billy Davidson, Rusty Davidson, Autumn Davidson, Gary D. Farmer, Donna McCown, Charity Gamble, Bobby Hall, and Brandon Hall and fiancé Destiny Johnson; several great-grandchildren, sisters, Irene Isley and Lola Rhoten McDuff; brother-in-law, Billy Henry; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mack Greer officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Grandchildren and friends will be pallbearers.
