Billy Mahaffey

Billy Mahaffey, 77, of the Lone Star Community, died July 13, 2010 at his home.

He retired from the Sullivan County Highway Department. Billy enjoyed the outdoors, ginseng hunting, and leather work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Stella Mahaffey; two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors are his loving wife of 55 years, Faye Mahaffey; and their son, Alan Mahaffey both of Kingsport; and a special friend Dave McMurray.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at Solomon's Temple Missionary Baptist Church or anytime at the home of Faye Mahaffey.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rights by the American Legion Color Guard Post # 3/265. Pallbearers will be Bill Haselton, Nate Mullenix, Eric Hensley, Loren Hensley, Phil Widener and Melanie Widener.
