Billy Marion Payne

Billy Marion Payne, 53, Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 due to injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

He served in the U. S. Army and was employed by Shaw Construction Company in St. Paul, VA.

Billy was a member of Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church.

His father, Fred Meade; grandparents, Henry and Druscilla Meade and Charlie and Dorothy Simpson preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Ollie Payne; son, Justin Payne, Mother, Lillian Sexton; two sisters, Brenda Gillenwater and husband Larry, Tessa McCarty and husband Kevin; three brothers, Elmer Payne and wife Jannie, Michael Payne and wife Sonja, Ed Meade and wife Karen; stepsister, Suzie Dean and husband Jr.; stepson, Josh Butterfield and wife Angel; two granddaughters, Jo-Jo and Sunshine; brothers-in-law, Donnie Gentry , Marvin Gentry and wife Sally, and Bobby Gentry; sister-in-law, Brenda Wethering and husband Bill. Billy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and any time at the home of his mother, Lillian Sexton.

Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Edens, Rev. Garry Hood, and Rev. Bob Yates officiating. Music will be provided by Ed and Joyce Mclain.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #3/265.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Jones, Josh McCarty, Chris McCarty, E. J. Meade, Lee Grissom, and Jim Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Norris, Chuck Coomer, Tommy Simpson, Steve Simpson, Gary Surcey, Donnie Gentry, Bobby Gentry, Chucky Brummitt, and Don Meade.
