Billy J. Scalf

Billy J. "Billy Bob" Scalf, 41, Mount Carmel, TN, drowned late Thursday night in Holston River. Billy was born in Atlanta and had resided in Columbia, SC until coming to Kingsport in 2001. Billy was a construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen King.

Billy is survived by his daughters, Megan Scalf of Columbia, SC, and Abbie Scalf of Kingsport, TN; son, William Scalf of Elgin, SC; father, Bill Scalf of Lugoff, SC; sister, Lisa Reed of Mount Carmel, TN; brother, Dale King of Columbia, SC; several nieces and nephews, and special nephew, Cody King.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 25th at 11:00 am at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport with Bishop William Gibson and Elder Amos Bright officiating.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mount Carmel, TN.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
