Birgitta "Britt" Elisabeth Hamlett
Birgitta "Britt" Elisabeth Hamlett, 75, of Kingsport, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in GaÏ?le, Sweden, she had resided in East Tennessee since the late 1970's. Britt had recently retired from Frontier Health after 30 years of service. She was a Protestant.
Survivors include her husband, James Clifton Hamlett of Kingsport; two sons, Kareem Souka of Canton, Georgia and Omar Souka of Edina, Minnesota; two grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Souka; and one brother, Hans Mebius of Sweden.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 pm Friday, August 14th, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 5835, Kingsport, TN 37663.
