Bobby Dean Blakley, 86 of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2024, surrounded by his family, after a period of declining health. Bobby was born in Washington County and had lived in the Fall Branch area his entire life. A veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 3 years active duty, with 26 months in Alaska, he then spent 4 years in inactive reserves. Bobby graduated from barber college in Knoxville in 1959 and worked as a master barber. He worked at Kingsport-Press for 3 years, then 9 years at Holston Defense and retired from Eastman after 33 years, working in Kodel and Acid Division. Bobby also farmed for most of his life. He was a Freemason at Johnson Lodge #274 for 50 years, having received the 32nd Degree within the Scottish Rite and also having been made a member of the Knight Commander Court of Honor (KCCH) in 2013. He was proud to serve Shriners and Jerico Temple for many years. He accepted his Lord and Savior in his teen years and was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. Bobby was a giving and loving man to his family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Blakley; and sister, Anna Pope.
Survivors include son, Tony Blakley and wife, Gail; daughter, Tammy Hollyfield and husband, Jeff; granddaughters, Lexi and Samantha.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Masonic services will be conducted by Johnson Lodge # 274, at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
