Bobby Harrison

Bobby (Bob) Jack Harrison, 79, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 23, 2018. He owned and operated Harrison Construction for over 40 years. Bob loved his family and Kennedy, Karaline, and Madeline held a special place in his heart and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.M. and Jane Harrison; two brothers, Jim and Jay; and five sisters, Mamie, Hazel, Edith, Frankie, and Doris.

His is survived by his wife Louise; four daughters, Diane (Mark) Curtis, Karen (Bobby) Elrod, Susan (Jim) Harrison, and Betsy (Paul) Ciola; step-son, Tim (Dawn) Newland; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel & Larry (Janice) Harrison; two sisters, Louise Thompson and Jean (Cecil) Carter, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful medical staff that took care of him in his final days on the fifth floor at Indian Path Medical Center, and Dr. Mark Williams and nurse Lauren of Johnson City Internal Medicine, and also his home care doctor, Dr. Megan Long, home nurse, Shanna, and physical therapist Ginny.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Ray Amos Sr. and Pastor Fred Robinette officiating. Eulogy will be provided by Jack Hickman. Music will be provided by Chubb and Dixie Carter and Bobby Mays.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Those planning to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45am.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Laney, Brandon Hanson, Jacob Holt, Byron Ewing, Brad Harrison, and Marty Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brandon Hawkins, Chris Jones, and Robert Ketron.
