Bobby Heath, 78 of Church Hill, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Bridgeport, Illinois and had lived in Church Hill most of his life. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of The American Legion. Bobby had retired from Tennessee Eastman after 30 years of service. Bobby was a member of Christian Life Center Church where he had served as head usher for many years. He also had coached the boys' basketball team at Christian Life Academy for several years. Bobby was a wonderful husband, dad, papaw of 3 grandchildren, brother and friend.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Mack Heath and parents, Robert and Julia Isom Heath; brother, Fred. D. Heath; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Heath.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nadine McCann Heath; son, Tony Heath and wife, Lorrie of Church Hill; grandchildren, Hannah McCurry, Jasmine Heath and Liam Heath; sisters, Carol Montgomery and husband, Fred of August, Arkansas, and Peggy Salling and husband, Jan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother, Jerry Heath of Augusta, Kansas; sister-in-law, Vicki Heather; several nieces, nephews and cousins; best friend and fishing buddy, Jackie Woods; and hunting buddies, Scott and Ribble.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Christian Life Center Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jeremy Danesworth, Senior Pastor Keith Barker, and Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military Honors will be accorded by The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the basketball team at Christian Life Academy.
