Bonnie V. Rutledge Harr, 93, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Holston Manor after a brief stay.
Bonnie was married to her husband, John, for 75 years. She worked in the home and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, crochet, gardening, and traveling. Bonnie and John visited all but one state during their travels. Bonnie spent time tending her rose garden, which she loved.
She was a longtime member of Cassidy United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lilly Parker Rutledge and Richard Rutledge; brothers, Fostine Rutledge and Bill Rutledge; sisters, Cory Shoemaker, Callie Linkous, Katie Rutledge, Alma Overbay, and Cecil Hensley; and son, Billy R. Harr.
Bonnie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 75 years, John Martin Harr; daughter, Virginia Ruth Harr and son-in-law, M. Dale Harr; grandchildren, Julie Harr- Johnson, Tim Harr, and Tammy Harr-Wininger; great-grandchildren, Sarah Cech, David Johnson, Katie Johnson, Victoria Johnson, Meagan Harr, Travis Harr, Brandon Wininger, Jarred Wininger, Madelyn Wininger, and Aaron Wininger.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday January 22, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Burningham officiating.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
