Brenda Sue Crawford, 58, of Kingsport, went to heaven Saturday evening December 16, 2006 at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Kingsport, she had lived in Kingsport and the Blair?s Gap community all her life.
Brenda Sue was a graduate of Sullivan West High School. During her years at Holston Defense, she worked in the Roads & Grounds Department and in the production area; then as a chemical operator with BAE Systems.
She loved gardening, yard sales, cooking, farming, and working with her cows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Nellie Mowell Conkin; and one brother, Roy Ellis Conkin.
Surviving are her son, Richard Crawford and wife, Karen; two daughters, Wanda Arnold and Lori Mann and husband, Jason; all of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Tyler Mann, and Taylor Mann; two step-grandchildren, John Marsh and Keisha Marsh; two sisters, Ella Ward and Geneva Conkin, both of Kingsport; and one niece and two nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch, or anytime at the home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Mowell Cemetery Services with Bro. Danny Dolen officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:50 a.m.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
