Brenda L. Donaldson

BELOVED DAUGHTER, SISTER, AUNT

Brenda L. Donaldson, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Born in Dublin, GA on June 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. Donaldson and the late Ora A. Donaldson. A resident of Kingsport for most of her life, she graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School and received two degrees from the University of Tennessee. She retired from the Kingsport City School System after more than 30 years providing special education, speech, and hearing services to countless children. Brenda was an active Sigma Kappa sorority alum and member of Sertoma. She had a passion for UT football and basketball and adored her many adopted animals through the years. Brenda will be remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt who loved her family and friends fiercely.

She is survived by her two nieces, Elizabeth L. Hamblen and Sarah R. Hamblen, her great-nephew, Howie, and her brother-in-law, Sam E. Hamblen.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, followed by a brief memorial service at 2:00pm. Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Kingsport City School Backpack Program c/o Second Harvest Foodbank, netfoodbank.org.
