Brenda Robinette, 59, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Oak Glen Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Gladys Bishop; brothers, Junior and Billy Bishop; sisters, Judy, Nancy, Betty; mother and father-in-law, Richard C. Guy and Oshea V. Guy.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Robinette of the home; sons, Michael Amyx of OH, Kermit Amyx of Kingsport; daughters, Kawana Barbour and husband, Rusty of Fall Branch, Sharon Calhoun and husband, Mark of Kingsport, Vickie Robinette and fiancé Eddie Wade of Bristol; brother, Paul Bishop of Kingsport; sister, Julie Ward of Kingsport; brothers-in-law, Alfred, Roger and Clyde Guy; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. The service will begin at 8 pm with Bro. Danny Sykes officiating. Music will be provided by the Oak Glen Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kermit Amyx, Michael Amyx, Roger Guy, Alfred Guy, Rusty Barbour, Bobby Stapleton, Preston Wright and Ricky Necessary. Honorary pallbearers will be David Booker, Wayne Greer, Franklin Amyx, Dewey Necessary.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Summers and Nurse Donna and also to Dr. Shipstone and the staff at Kingsport Hematology. The family also wishes to thank Wellmont Hospice Group.
