Brenda Wilson Starkman, 62, Harmony Community of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 12:48 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was born in Kingsport, had resided in Florida, and came to the Harmony Community in 2000. Brenda was a member of West View Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired Registered Nurse.

Her husband, Jeffrey Starkman; and sister, Sherry Wilson Morrison, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Angela Handley and husband Chris of Jonesborough, Candice Elizabeth Coffey and husband Jonathan of Kingsport, Chris Smith and husband Steve of Lake Mary, Florida; three sons, Kevin Dockery and wife Sonia of Greensboro, NC, Sean Dockery and wife Blanca of Pinellas Park, FL, and Bryan Hooper of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren, Meredith and husband Dan, Christina, Jacob, Grace, Caroline, Vanessa, Collin, Camrin, and Courtney; her parents, Robert Jack and Ruby Wilson; one brother, Robert Jackson Wilson, Jr. and wife Libby of Kingsport; and a special niece, Holly Morrison.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
