Kingsport, TN ? Brenda Faye Kern Wilson, age 56, Green Valley Manor Apartments, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born in Sullivan County on October 31, 1950. Mrs. Wilson was a loving mother and grandmother, a member of Cedar?s Chapel Church, and worked as a hairdresser.
Her father, William J. Kern, and her mother, Lola Darnell Starnes, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son, Brandon Dale Wilson, Kingsport; two granddaughters, Hayley Wilson and Karley Wilson; sisters, Ruby Parent, Church Hill, TN, Shelby Fields and her husband, Roger, Church Hill; brothers, Hagen Kern and his wife, Betty, Daytona Beach, FL, Billy Kern and his wife, Rhonda, Pierson, FL, Johnny Kern and his wife, Shelby, Church Hill; stepmother, Juanita Kern, Church Hill; half-sisters, Joyce Martin, Tammy Kern, and Verna Light, all of Church Hill; half-brother, Paul Kern and wife, Christine, Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, and other times at the home of Brandon Wilson, 993 W. Sullivan Street.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Davis and Steve Clagg officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews ? Keith Kern, Anthony Kern, Roger Allgood; brother-in-law ? Roger Fields; and friend ? Jim Beck.
