David Brent Salyer, 63, of Kingsport, went into eternal rest in God's heavenly chamber Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Brent was a Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Reva Salyer; and brother, James Mitchell.
Survivors include his loving and supportive wife of 21 years, Portia Salyer; daughter, Kimberly Broadwater and husband, Tim of Kingsport; son, Adam Salyer and wife, Leanne of St. Louis, MO, stepdaughter Sarah Absher and husband, Jason of Kingsport; nine grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jason, Jr., Jordan, Quentin, Dillon, Shanta and Tiffany Absher, Kristin, Middleton, and Mason Broadwater and several nieces nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Brent's Life will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 5-7 pm at his home, 301 Hidden Acres Rd., Kingsport, 37664 with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #979 providing honors at 6 pm.
