Bruce P. "Junior" Bloomer

Bruce P. "Junior" Bloomer, Jr., 62, of Church Hill, passed away June 23, 2009. Bruce was born in Selma, Alabama. He graduated from Church Hill High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Korea. He worked at the Kingsport Press, Hawkins County Plant, retiring after 30 years of service.

Bruce was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. He was a caring, giving father who loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce P. Bloomer, Sr.; mother, Margie Bloomer; and a sister, Teresa Lane.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ada Bloomer; two sons, Bruce Bloomer, III and wife Amanda of Fleetwood, NC, and Brian Reece Bloomer and Fiancee Wanda Campbell of Church Hill; four grandchildren, Bethany and Natalie Bloomer and Arianna and Kallie Bloomer; three sisters, Wanda Sensabaugh and husband Donnie of Mt. Carmel, Betty Whitson and husband Herbert of Church Hill; Barbara Sword and husband Billy of Church Hill; a brother, Ricky Bloomer and wife Becky of Laurinburg, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with Rev. Jim Mullins and Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Carmel. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
